Rodeo Terrorists have released a bold new Scottish football anthem, “Saltire (Tartan Army),” out now as of 27th March 2026. The single arrives with perfect timing as World Cup excitement builds, offering a playful and heartfelt tribute to Scotland supporters and the famous Tartan Army.
Behind the track is Richard, a 55-year-old English IT manager with a deep, lifelong affection for Scotland. Although he is not Scottish himself, he studied in Scotland and has long considered the country a second home. That connection gives the song its affectionate edge, mixing outsider humour with genuine admiration for Scottish football culture.
Musically, “Saltire (Tartan Army)” combines Celtic-inspired melodies, electronic energy and pop-rock drive. The track has been described as sounding like The Waterboys colliding with New Order’s “World In Motion,” placing it firmly in the tradition of football songs made for terraces, parties and big-match singalongs.
The single also carries a personal cause. Richard hopes to use the release to raise awareness of Motor Neurone Disease and support MND Scotland in memory of a close friend who passed away. Funny, catchy and full of feeling, “Saltire (Tartan Army)” is a football anthem with heart behind the humour.
